We announced our cherry harvest dinner last week (for which we still have some tickets available), but only now can we talk with some certainty about the event behind the event, the harvest itself. We have an unusually old orchard, and many of our trees have been producing fruit for about one hundred years. This year they have set a very fine crop of large, sweet cherries.
Here are the ways you can get our organic cherries this season:
FARMSTAND
On FRIDAY JUNE 20 and FRIDAY JUNE 27, the tasting room will remain open late (until 7:00 PM) and we’ll sell field-run cherries straight from the picking bin at our farmstand (next to the tasting room parking). This will be a chance to get some just-picked fruit without picking it yourself, and to taste wine in the cool, later hours of the day.
If you intend to purchase enough fruit for your ventures in freezing, canning, dehydrating, and so on, consider bringing your own reusable shopping bags or a cooler.
U-PICK ‘EM
I don’t remember how long we’ve been running our u-pick stand, but I think it’s been more than twelve years and fewer than twenty. We’re prepared to welcome you into the orchard yet again. Starting Tuesday, June 17th, you can find us at the stand, 9:00-1:00 on most weekdays, 9:00-5:00 on Fridays and weekends. We provide picking buckets and paper bags, but it helps if you bring a reusable option (coolers are the best) to take your fruit home in.
Our season is very short—we’ll likely be closed before the 4th of July.
Our cherries are organic, and we're selling them for $3.90/lb
